PNC addresses the parliamentarians of Serbia and Kosovo regarding the opening of their embassies in Jerusalem

The Speaker of the Palestinian National Council (PNC), Mr. Saleem Al-Za’anoun, addressed the parliamentarians of Serbia and Kosovo regarding their countries ’ intention to open embassies in the occupied city of Jerusalem, in violation of international law and relevant international legitimacy decisions.
In his letters, the PNC Speaker addressed in this regard, the President of the Serbian National Assembly, Maya Kujevic, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives in Kosovo, Fusia Osmani, he demanded to pressure the governments of their countries to revoke that step which does not serve peace, and to explicitly announce its cancellation and adhere to international law.
Mr. Al-Za’anoun said: We have followed the announcement of US President Donald Trump during the joint conference with the Serbian President and the Prime Minister of Kosovo on 4th of Sep, 2020, about Serbia’s intention to transfer its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem by July 2021, and Kosovo’s intention to normalize relations with Israel and open embassy in Jerusalem.
PNC Speaker called on his Serbian and Kosovo counterparts not to submit to the blackmail of US President Donald Trump, and to adhere to and abide by the UN Security Council resolutions, especially Resolutions 476 and 478 of 1980 and Resolution 2334 of 2016, which called on all countries not to establish diplomatic missions in the city of Jerusalem, and that all decisions and procedures of administrative and legal actions taken by Israel in Jerusalem are absolutely null and void.
The recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of the occupation, and the transfer of the embassy to it is an illegal act that rewards the occupier forces instead of subjecting it to accountability and imposing penalties on, and it is an explicit recognition of Israel's illegal annexation of Jerusalem, PNC Speaker added, it’s an act that is inconsistent with the principles of justice and respect for peoples' rights.
PNC Speaker reminded his counterparts that the decision of US Administration and any other country to transfer its embassy to the city of Jerusalem are unilateral decisions that violate the legal status of the occupied Jerusalem, have no legal effect and are considered null and void under international law. He urged the parliamentarians of the two countries to review this step and return to it, because it represents a clear violation of the international consensus on the occupied city of Jerusalem, harms the relationship with the Arab and Islamic worlds, and will have negative effects on stability and security in the region.
In his messages, PNC Speaker affirmed the depth of relations between the Palestinian and Serbian peoples, the Palestinian and Kosova people, stressing that these relations are continuous and extended throughout history. Palestine is keen to strengthen and develop mutual relations in the interest of the two friendly peoples.

On the anniversary of Al-Aqsa Mosque Burning - the Palestinian people will remain attached to Jerusalem, the capital of the Palestinian state

On the 51st anniversary of the burning of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, which is the first of the two Qiblahs (destinations) and the third after the two Holy Mosques (Mecca & Al-Madina Mosques), Palestine National Council (PNC) stressed that Palestinian people will remain attached to Jerusalem as the capital of their independent and sovereign state, and will continue to defend the Islamic and Christian holy sites in it.
In a statement issued today, PNC said: This painful occasion comes to us while the fire of normalization by some relatives burns all their national and religious obligations towards Al-Aqsa Mosque, recognizes Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, in implementation of Trump's deal, and affirms the occupation’s sovereignty over Islamic and Christian sanctities in it. That relative acknowledges the Israeli religious and historical narrative towards the (Path of God’s Messenger and his ascension to the sky).
PNC affirmed the Palestinian leadership’s position rejecting the normalization agreement between the UAE and the occupation government, under the auspices and support of Trump Administration, which aims at perpetuating the policy of normalization with the Israeli occupation, at the expense of the legitimate rights of Palestinian people, calling for the mobilization of all energies and efforts, and by acting shoulder to shoulder, consolidate unity, and achieve reconciliation. to confront and thwart those Israeli policies.
All what is happening in light of the continuation and escalation of the Israeli attack on the Al-Aqsa Mosque, in terms of escalating incursions by extremist settlers, restricting Palestinian access to it, repeated attacks on worshipers inside its yards, closing its gates, and intensifying excavations underneath and in its vicinity, PNC added, is for the aim of Judaizing Al-Aqsa Mosque, and judaizing the city of Jerusalem as a whole, changing its geographical and demographic character, and isolating it from its Palestinian surroundings.

PNC highly valued the pivotal role played by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, in defending the Palestinian cause, and protecting Al-Aqsa Mosque and the holy sites in the city of Jerusalem, through the Hashemite guardianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites, as the Hashemite guardianship forms a protective shield against Judaization operations, and the attempts to divide Al-Aqsa Mosque.
PNC affirmed that all occupation measures and arrangements against Jerusalem and the holy sites contradict and violate international legitimacy and its relevant decisions, stressing that Jerusalem is owned by the Palestinian people, the free Arabs and Muslims, bearing at the same time the occupation government fully responsible for the dangerous repercussions that may occur as a result of the Israeli aggressive policies and actions, which is a blatant challenge to the will of the international community, and a reason for the outbreak of religious conflict in the region.
On this occasion, PNC renewed the Palestinian people's rejection of the Israeli annexation project for parts of the West Bank, based on the so-called (Deal of the Century). PNC stressed the Palestinian people's determination to thwart the attempts to impose Israeli sovereignty over the territories of the Palestinian state, and stressed that the pressures and threats our people and leadership are exposed to will not succeed in subjugating or breaking the Palestinian will, and our people will continue to struggle in defense of their national dignity and their just rights.
PNC demanded the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and its parliaments, which was established after the Al-Aqsa Mosque Burning in 1969 - the burning was carried out under the coverage, protection and planning of the Israeli occupation authorities, and implemented by an extremist called Michael Dennis Rohan – to defend and protect Al-Aqsa Mosque, and to provide urgent financial and political support for the city of Jerusalem.

PNC: Palestinian issue is not subject to trade-offs & deals reflected in the agreement of UAE with Israeli, and demand Arab & Islamic Parliaments to condemn & reject

The Palestinian issue is not subject to the principles of trade-offs, deals, false claims, or disgraceful uses, which were reflected in the agreement of the United Arab Emirates with the Israeli occupation state yesterday, Thursday, under American auspices, PNC announced.
In a statement issued today, Friday, PNC added that the Israeli Emirati American tripartite declaration is considered a blatant aggression on the rights of our people and their sacred cause, the rights of the Arab and Islamic nations in Palestine and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
PNC condemned and strongly denounced this normalization agreement for the UAE's relations with the Israeli occupation, in exchange for the claim of a temporary and misleading suspension of the annexation of Palestinian lands, at a time when this Israeli criminal occupation escalates its measures to annex Palestinian lands, especially the city of Jerusalem, and violates the sanctity of religious places, foremost of which is the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Whoever wants to support Palestinian people and protect their rights should not sign agreements that stab them in the back and weaken their position, and recognize Jerusalem as the capital of the Israeli occupation, PNC continued, and cause a flawed breach of the position of Arab and Islamic consensus, and help the occupation and Trump to implement the (Deal of the Century), rather not to overturn the Arab peace initiative , the decisions of the Arab and Islamic summits and the international decisions that guaranteed the rights of Palestinian people, which sanctity no one should harm.
PNC called on the heads of the Arab Parliamentary Union, the Arab Parliament, the Islamic Parliamentary Union, and the Arab and Islamic parliaments to condemn and reject this agreement that the UAE made, and to confront this blatant deviation by an Arab country from the principles of the Arab and Islamic consensus, and demand UAE to promptly back it down.
PNC considered that what the UAE did is a rejected use of the Palestinian cause, and a betrayal of Palestine and its people, serving the interest of the Israeli occupation, and this act is not representing the genuine position of the brotherly Emirati people and their will, but rather a betrayal of the legacy and trust of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (may God have mercy on him), and his honorable history in defending the Palestinian cause.
PNC affirmed that the UAE, or any other party, has no right to act on behalf of the Palestinian people, stressing that Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), headed by President Mahmoud Abbas, is the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people, and the guardian of the Palestinian rights.
It is the struggle of our people and its sacrifices and support of free Arabs, Muslims and the world that failed the annexation, PNC added, that’s will end the occupation, not the agreements of deception, craving and betrayal of national obligations and duties, and the abandonment of responsibilities towards Palestine.
PNC called on the brothers who welcomed this declaration or announcement to withdraw from it, affirming its full confidence in the peoples of our Arab nation, to continue their support and national commitment to the Palestinian cause for which the best of the nation’s youth and leaders sacrificed.
PNC affirmed the commitment of Palestinian people to their rights and struggle, praising the unified position of our Palestinian people in facing this conspiratorial act and all Palestinian issue liquidation projects for the rights of return and establishing the state with its capital, the city of Jerusalem.

PNC calls on humanitarian and human rights institutions and world parliaments to declare their solidarity with the Governor of Jerusalem, Adnan Ghaith

Palestine National Council (PNC) renewed its call for humanitarian and human rights institutions, parliaments of the world and their free peoples, to declare their solidarity with the Governor of Jerusalem, Mr. Adnan Ghaith, and to act urgently to pressure the Israeli occupation authorities to release him, especially as he is subject to continuous investigations in the cells of Ashkelon prison, in harsh conditions of detention, and in violation of Geneva Conventions related.

In a statement issued today, PNC considered that the continued detention of the Governor of Jerusalem, Mr. Ghaith by the Israeli occupation for the 14th day in a row is an additional crime, and a direct targeting of the occupied city of Jerusalem and its religious, national institutions, leaders and symbols, in order to empty it of its original owners.

PNC declared that Governor Ghaith had been arrested on 19th of July 2020 for the eighteenth time in two years, that means since he took office, without any justification except that he is acting his national role in serving Palestinian people, in the capital of the occupied Palestinian state, which is recognized by the United Nations, This confirms that this illegal detention is aimed solely at targeting the Palestinian presence in occupied Jerusalem.

The arrest of the Governor of Jerusalem, and transferring him outside the borders of his occupied country, constituted a war crime and a flagrant violation of the provisions of (Article 76) of the Fourth Geneva Convention, which stipulates that captured persons (prisoners) should stay in their country, stressing the duty of all signatory states parties under the agreements of Geneva 1949, to pressure the Israeli occupation to release the Palestinian prisoners, and put an end to its repeated violations of the agreements, PNC confirmed.

PNC added: The arrest of Governor Ghaith comes in the context of the occupation attack against occupied Jerusalem, by demolishing homes, expelling residents, closing down national and cultural institutions, and arresting hundreds of children and storming holy sites and other series of Judaization, in direct targeting of the legal and political status of the occupied Jerusalem

PNC recall that Jerusalem is an occupied Palestinian city, in accordance with United Nations resolutions including Security Council Resolutions No. 252 (1968), 267 (1969), 465, 476 and 478 (1980), 2334 (2016), which consider all Israeli measures and laws aimed at changing The legal and political status of the city of Jerusalem, its sanctities, identity and demographic composition, are null and void.

PNC praises the European Parliament's position rejecting the Israeli annexation plan - Called on the IPU to declare its position on the annexation plan and the right of Palestinian people to end the occupation.

Palestine National Council (PNC) praised the European Parliament’s position, rejecting the Israeli annexation plan for the occupied Palestinian territories, and called on the Inter-Parliamentary Union to announce its position on the annexation plan, and the right of Palestinian people to end the Israeli occupation, same to the position of their fellow European and American parliamentarians.
In a statement issued today, PNC appreciated the position of more than a thousand parliamentarians from across the continent of Europe, who signed a letter - addressed to the ministries of foreign affairs of European countries – to affirmed their strong opposition to Israel's plans to annex parts of the occupied Palestinian territories, and called for appropriate responses to this peace-killer plan for the region, and challenges the most basic international standards.
PNC praised the warnings that were signed by 1080 parliamentarians from 25 countries, that allowing the annexation to pass without rerponse, would encourage other countries that have territorial claims to "ignore the basic principles of international law", along with its disastrous effects on security and stability of the region.
PNC expressed its thanks and appreciation to these parliamentarians, who considered that the "Deal of the Century" confiscates Palestinian rights, gives the Israeli occupation permanent control over the Palestinian lands, deprives the Palestinian people of their right to sovereignty over their lands and wealth, and gives the occupation the green light to annex large parts of the Palestinian lands.
PNC called on the rest of the world’s parliamentarians in Latin America and Africa to take the same positions and pressure their governments to take practical measures against the occupation and its settlement projects, valuing at the same time the position of all parliamentarians, especially in France, Italy, Denmark, Britain and Greece, and members of the US American Congress and others, who they expressed their rejection of the annexation plan, and the need for their countries’ governments to recognize the State of Palestine.
PNC also requested the Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly, the Union for the Mediterranean, the Pan-African Parliament, and the Inter-Parliamentary Union in particular, as it includes the largest gathering of the world's 178 parliaments, to condemn and declare an explicit and open position on the Israeli annexation plan for the occupied Palestinian territories, and impose deterrent sanctions on the Israeli occupation parliament (the Knesset), which is a partner in all the crimes of the occupation and policy in violation of international law, and international legitimacy resolutions.
PNC also called on Arab and Islamic parliaments, to dedicate all their potential and their relations with the parliaments of the world to mobilize international parliamentary public opinion, to confront the occupation's plans, racist policies and terrorism against Palestinian people.
The international parliamentary actions would constitute a major pressure tool on the governments of their countries, to take practical measures to deter the occupation and its policies, PNC said, as well as international parliaments' recognition of the right of the Palestinian people to get rid of the occupation, and establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions.
PNC stressed the continuation of its contacts with all parliaments, unions and parliamentary assemblies in the world, and urged all these institutions to assume its responsibilities stipulated in its charters and regulations, in supporting justice, truth, international law and protecting human rights, and rejecting the injustice, aggression and occupation to which our people are subjected.

The 53rd anniversary of the setback (Naksa) PNC confirms moving ahead with the implementation of the decision to absolve from agreements with the Israeli occupation in defense of rights

On the 53rd anniversary of Israel's occupation of the remaining lands of Palestine, Palestine National Council (PNC) affirmed that we will continue to confront all conspiracy projects aimed at eliminating the Palestinian national presence on the land of parents and grandparents, stressing that the implementation of absolving from agreements with this occupation will be carried out in defense of our existence and our rights.
In a statement issued on the anniversary of the setback (Naksa), which occurred on 5th of June 1967, PNC said: There is no alternative to ending the occupation, and restoring the legitimate rights to freedom, independence and return, and the independent state over the entire borders of 4th of June 1967 with its capital, the city of Jerusalem.
The long years of Israeli occupation of our land and the accompanying racist policies and measures of occupation, failed to change the identity of the Palestinian Arab land, distort its history and extended civilization, and the eternal bonding of the Palestinian people to this land. PNC added, the Israeli occupation failed to undermine the people's adherence and defending of their inalienable rights despite the oppression and racism of this occupation.
PNC affirmed that the Israeli occupation - with full American support - is racing against time in implementing its plans to annex the remainder of the Palestinian occupied lands, escalating its procedures to Judaize the city of Jerusalem, confiscating lands and building settlements, attempts to undermine the Palestinian leadership, and undermining the Palestinian National Authority, in addition to continuing detention, terrorism and executions by the settlers, the most recent of what happened to the martyr with special needs Iyad Hallaq in the occupied city of Jerusalem.
All of these terrorist policies and practices, no doubt, reflect Tel Aviv government’s insistence on continuing to occupy the lands of the Palestinian state, and pushing the region toward further deterioration and escalation, PNC added.
The Council called on the international community to react to Israel's continued violations of international law and international legitimacy resolutions, to guarantee our people's right to self-determination and return to live in the Palestinian sovereign state with its capital, Jerusalem. PNC demanded concrete steps to impose sanctions on Israel, to stop the implementation of annexation schemes of the Palestinian occupied lands.
PNC renewed its call to end the division, and unify the endeavors under the umbrella of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), the legal and sole representative of the Palestinian people wherever they are, in order to confront the risks to our national project.
PNC stressed the importance of aligning firmly behind the Palestinian leadership, represented by President Abu Mazen, in a framework to address what is so-called the American " Deal of the Century "and confront the Israeli annexation plans.

The PNC statement concluded by saluting the steadfastness of the Palestinian people, for its defense of rights, land, identity and sanctities, in addition to Palestinian insistence on achieving the dream of our martyrs in founding the sovereign state on the entire Palestinian soil.

PNC, on the anniversary of PLO founding: PLO is the protector of the rights of the Palestinian people, and the guarantor of the independent national decision

Palestine National Council (PNC) said that the PLO was and will remain the home of our people and the only legitimate representative of all Palestinians wherever they are, and will remain the leader of the Palestinians struggle, and the protector of the national project until return and independence.
In a statement issued today, Wednesday, PNC added, on the occasion of the 56th anniversary of launching of Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), which meets 28th of May 1964, the events have proven that PLO which the late Ahmed Al Shugairi fought for its establishment, and followed after by the founding leaders, the foremost is the martyr and symbol Yasser Arafat, represents the Palestinian people and leads its struggle. Because PLO is the guarantee and the guardian of the independent national decision, in addition to protecting Palestinian people rights to self-determination and return, and establishing the independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
On that day of PLO founding in 1964, the city of Jerusalem embraced hundreds of representatives of our people from within the homeland and Diaspora, PNC added, to announce that Palestinian will rebound from the ashes of the Catastrophe (Nakba) where nobody will be able to block, and to announce the birth of the most important Palestinian national achievement, which is launching the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).
PNC reaffirmed that the PLO, led by President Mahmoud Abbas, is now confronting the fiercest Israeli-American war on our rights. PLO will succeed in thwarting Israeli-American goals, just as it succeeded in thwarting the attempts to damage PLO as the sole representative of our people and find alternatives to it. PNC stressed that PLO, previously, did not allow anybody to speak on behalf of Palestinian people, and would not allow anybody to pretend representing Palestinians interests.
PNC affirmed that, the sacrifices of the martyrs, the wounded and the prisoners, PLO was able, to restore and protect our Palestinian identity, principles and people, and gained international recognition as a legitimate and sole representative of the Palestinian people, until acheiving the recognition of Palestine as a state member of the United Nations, with its capital, Jerusalem, on the borders of 4th of June, 1967.

Thwarting attempts to liquidate our national project requires ending the division and achieving unity within the framework of the PLO, PNC reaffirmed, there is no longer any excuse for anybody, especially after the Palestinian leadership’s decision to absolve of agreements and understandings with the Israeli occupation and Trump’s administration.
PNC affirmed that it will continue to work for the activation and development of the PLO bodies, and to enhance its role in the Palestinian political system, just as the pioneer founders and martyrs, from Ahmed Al-Shugairi to Abu Ammar and George Habash and other martyrs and leaders, wanted. PLO also works on implementing the decisions of PNC and Central councils related to the development and activation of its institutions
