On the anniversary of The Land Day: PNC calls for strengthening the unity of our people and resisting settlement plans and Judaization

Palestine National Council (PNC) said that the celebration of The Land Day every year is an affirmation that the land is the core issue in our struggle against the Israeli occupation, and an expression of the
Palestinian people's adherence to the land of their forefathers and grandparents and their rejection of the settler colonial policies and procedures that target their national and historical presence on their land.

In a statement PNC issued for the 45th anniversary of this national day, which will fall tomorrow, Tuesday, March 30th, PNC called on the Palestinian people in all places of their presence to defend their land,
strengthen their national unity, and their resistance to occupation, settlement and Judaization in all forms.

The Land Day, which came after the gift of the masses on the 30th of March 1976 in response to the policy of seizing the land and the attempt to Judaize the Palestinian Galilee, embodied the highest meanings of
sacrifice and redemption for our people who have the inherent right to it in the face of Zionist colonialism, PNC said.

The Land Day strengthened the Palestinian national awareness of the masses of our people in the Galilee, the Triangle and the Negev, strengthened the bonds of unity between our people in the homeland and
the diaspora, and contributed to the formulation of the national narrative in the face of the false and fabricated narrative of the Zionist movement, PNC added and called on our people in the 1948
territories to adhere to unity and to miss the opportunity for the Israeli occupation that tried and is still trying hard to penetrate the national position and divert attention from the issue and the national
goals.

In its statement, PNC pointed to the seriousness of the settlement and Judaization policies and measures implemented by the occupying power in the Palestinian territories, especially in Jerusalem and the Jordan
Valley, warning against continuing the occupation, creating a Settlement Ministry, providing tax facilities for settlers, and supporting and protecting their terrorism against Palestinian people.

PNC indicated that the settlement attack today is intensifying on Al-Bustan and Batn Al-Hawa neighborhoods in Silwan, Sheikh Jarrah, Wadi Al-Joz, Walaja, and Qalandia Airport, to displace Palestinians and expel them from the Holy City and change its cultural features to continue its Judaization and impose an occupation fait accompli, in an attempt to prevent its incorporation as the capital of the Palestinian state.
PNC called on Arab, regional and international federations and parliaments to condemn the Israeli policy of ethnic cleansing, and to strengthen their support for the Palestinian people and their legitimate national rights, and to emphasize the prosecution of Israeli war criminals by international courts and bring them to trial and not with impunity.
PNC also called on the United Nations and its institutions to implement its decisions on the Palestinian issue and the necessity to activate international binding mechanisms to implement these decisions, and to oblige the occupying state to comply with international legitimacy to end the occupation and enable Palestinian people to exercise their right to return and self-determination in their independent state with
Jerusalem as its capital.

PNC concluded its statement by affirming that Palestinian people everywhere continue to defend their land. PNC directs a salute of reverence and exaltation to the souls of the martyrs, and the steadfast heroic prisoners in the prisons and jails of the Israeli occupation.

Subject: Demolition, Evacuation, and Israeli Control of Palestinian Homes and Properties in Occupied Jerusalem.

Palestine National Council (PNC) extends its greetings and would like to inform you of the grave violations that the occupying power (Israel) is doing, threatening thousands of Palestinians with forced displacement from their homes in occupied Jerusalem, especially in the neighborhoods of Sheikh Jarrah, Al-Bustan, and Batn Al-Hawa in Silwan, and others.

In Al-Bustan neighborhood, there are 100 homes inhabited by 1550 people, threatened by immediate demolition and forced displacement of its residents, to establish a project called the "Biblical Garden" in its place, although some of these homes existed before 1948, and others before Israel’s occupation of Jerusalem in 1967. In Batn Al-Hawa neighborhood, there are 80 houses that are threatened with eviction this year, where about 700 people live in, and 14 of them have been evacuated out of 24 in which Israeli decisions were made to evacuate them.
As for Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, about 500 people in more than 28 homes are currently threatened with eviction in favor of the settlers.
The Israeli occupation has given the owners until 2nd of May to evacuate them, while their owners confirm that it was established legally, according to the 1954 agreement with the Jordanian government and the United Nations Relief Agency And the employment of Palestinian refugees "UNRWA", that is, before Israel's occupation of East Jerusalem in 1967.
Likewise, a plan is being implemented to complete the displacement of the residents of 38 homes in the village of Al Walaja, which the Israeli occupation authorities decided to demolish.
PNC would like to draw your attention to the fact that these grave violations are occurring on the lestinian land occupied since 1967, in order to change its historical and religious features, destroy private and public property and displace the Palestinian population, to perpetuate the occupation and prevent the establishing of an independent and geographically connected Palestinian state with its capital the city of Jerusalem in accordance with the relevant international legitimacy resolutions.
These violations also fall within the definition of ethnic cleansing, as it is a policy that targets an ethnic and religious group, namely the Palestinian Arab people, to displace the Palestinian civilian population
from specific geographical areas and "cleanse" them, using violent, terrorist and coercive methods, and confine the Palestinian to isolated areas that are similar to ghettos (concentration camps), and then their removal, forcible displacement and deportation, and the deliberate destruction of their property.
The crimes of the demolition of Palestinian homes and the displacement of their inhabitants are lassified under the framework of crimes against humanity, and under the name of genocide, and can be ompared to some war crimes, and classified as a crime against humanity in accordance with the principles and provisions of the International Criminal Court.
Accordingly, PNC calls on you to do all that is necessary in cooperation with the relevant international institutions and the governments of your countries, to stop these crimes, and to intervene to protect the neighborhoods of Jerusalem, especially Al-Bustan and Sheikh Jarrah neighborhoods, from the risk of demolition, eviction and displacement of their residents.
We expect you to work to activate the international legal mechanisms, to ensure accountability of the Israeli occupation authorities and their settlement tools, and hold them accountable for their continuous violations of the rights of the Palestinian people, and to prevent their impunity, in light of the recurrence and the severity of these violations.
We also look to you to make all efforts to ensure that the measures stipulated in the Statute of the International Criminal Court are taken, in order to achieve justice for the Palestinian people, and to prosecute and punish war criminals for their crimes against unarmed Palestinian civilians.

PNC: Kosovo and Czech opening of their diplomatic offices in Jerusalem is an illegal punishable act

Palestine National Council (PNC) considered the move by Czech Republic and Kosovo Territory to open offices for their countries' embassies in occupied Jerusalem as an illegal act that rewards the Israeli occupier instead of making Israel accountable and imposing penalties on it.
In a statement issued today, Monday, PNC added that this step is an explicit recognition of Israel's illegal annexation of the occupied city of Jerusalem, and it is a unilateral step that violates the legal status of this occupied city, which requires accountability and punishment of the occupier in accordance with international law.
PNC also considered the opening of the offices a blatant assault on the right of the Palestinian people, and a violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions, which all affirmed that Jerusalem is an occupied Palestinian city. PNC called on the parliament of Czech Republic and Kosovo to pressure the governments of their countries to backtrack on this irresponsible step that violates the resolutions of international legitimacy, which will not have any legal effect and will not change anything in the legal and historical status of occupied Jerusalem, and its fate will not be determined by unilateral decisions that are inconsistent with the principles of justice, respect for peoples' rights, and United Nations resolutions.
International parliaments should exert pressure on the parliaments of Czech Republic and Kosovo to oblige the governments of their countries to backtrack on this condemned step and adhere to UN Security Council resolutions, especially Resolutions 476 and 478 of 1980 and Resolution 2334 of 2016, which called on all countries not to establish diplomatic missions in the city of Jerusalem, and that all administrative and legal decisions and measures taken by Israel in Jerusalem are absolutely null and void, PNC called on and explained.

During the past year, 3 women were killed, and 128 women were arrested in the West Bank, Jerusalem and Gaza Strip, PNC explained, there are still 40 women detained in the prisons of the Israeli occupation.

We are now preparing to hold elections that we hope will be a turning point to end the division, and turn over its black page, PNC added, we ask all forces and factions that are preparing their election lists to be just to Palestinian women, and abide by the decisions of PNC and Central Council, in appreciating and reinforcing the pioneering role of the Palestinian women, in the march of building and development where Palestinian women have always been a partner.

PNC called on the official Palestinian institutions to abide by the laws and decisions issued in favor of empowering Palestinian women, and to lift all forms of negative discrimination towards them, in order to enhance their position on all levels and roles in the institutions of the State of Palestine, and in the institutions of Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).

PNC also called on the international community, with its relevant institutions, to work to end the continuing injustice inflicted on Palestinian women due to the continued Israeli occupation, which imposed a painful reality for all groups of Palestinian people, including women, as they suffer arrest, murder, oppression, demolition of homes and displacement with their children, and thus they are the direct victims of these violations which exposed daily, calling for international protection for Palestinian women from the violations and crimes of the Israeli occupation, and ensuring that they enjoy all their rights to live in freedom and dignity.

PNC concluded by saluting the women of Palestine in the homeland and in the diaspora, especially the wives, mothers, sisters and daughters of the martyrs, prisoners and the wounded who were patient and resilient, and totally bore the responsibility after losing the breadwinner. We highly appreciate the steadfastness of the female prisoners struggling in the prisons of the Israeli occupation.

PNC: In identical messages, informs the world parliaments about the violations of Israeli occupation

Palestine National Council (PNC) has informed the parliaments of the world about the latest violations of the rights of the Palestinian people by Israeli occupation, and the Israeli measures to change the geographical and political reality in the occupied territories in favor of its settlement colonial project.
In identical messages sent by PNC Speaker, Mr. Saleem Al-Za’anoon, to the heads of parliaments worldwide, including the heads of international and regional Arab, Islamic, Asian, African, European and other parliamentary unions in Latin America, PNC declared, Israel, the occupying power, is still bent on depriving the Palestinians of their material and moral lives, and depriving them of legitimate rights. and as a result, Impunity and absence of accountability from Israel for its crimes, especially its settlement policy, which means uprooting, displacement and loss of hope, life and sustenance.
In its messages, PNC called to provide international protection for Palestinian people in accordance with the UN General Assembly resolution in 2018, and the relevant Geneva Conventions, in light of the escalation of the policy of demolishing Palestinian homes, displacing the residents and confiscating lands, in implementation of the gradual colonial annexation plan.
PNC urged parliaments to help by including settler organizations such as: "Paying the Price", "The Hills Youth " and "The New Guard" as terrorist organizations, due to their criminal terrorist record in the occupied Palestinian territories.
PNC Speaker, Mr. Saleem Al-Za’anoon, also called for building on the recent message of European representatives, which called on the governments of their countries to work to stop the de facto annexation of Palestinian lands, in order to protect the future of the two-state solution in accordance with international legitimacy decisions.
He appealed to parliaments and governments to make the necessary efforts to support the Palestinian demands based on international law and resolutions of international legitimacy, to end the Israeli occupation, and to protect UN General Assembly Resolution 67/19 of Nov. 29, 2012, which recognizes the state of Palestine and its capital, Jerusalem, on the borders of June 4, 1967.
PNC messages presented most of the violations, such as demolition operations that affected nearly 220 businesses and properties, most notably what happens in Homsa Al-Fawqa, as well as 63 notices of demolition, uprooting 1,200 trees, and threatening 17,000 Palestinian homes to demolish because there are no building permits obtained by the owners from the occupation administration because of Israeli obstructive measures.
During last February, 66 civilians were wounded with live and metal-coated rubber and sponge bullets, that including children, PNC pointed out, settlers attacked Palestinians 80 times, including killing of three martyrs and wounding 19 civilians with various injuries.
Israel, the occupying Power, and settler groups, bear responsibility for all these continuing crimes, according to the provisions of Articles 1 and 29 of the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949, PNC affirmed, and that these violations against Palestinians should be stopped immediately, as they are "protected targets." Israeli civilian, military and security leaders also bear criminal responsibility in accordance with the provisions of the relevant international conventions, especially the 1998 International Criminal Court (ICC) regulations, which requires them to be brought to trial and to impose a deterrent punishment against them.
PNC stressed that these crimes do not lapse over the time or obsolescence, and it is the duty of the High States signatories to the Geneva Conventions in August 1949 to take measures to ensure the implementation of the conventions, and to hold the occupying power accountable for its serious breaches, in accordance with the joint Article 1 of the four conventions.

PNC: The decision of the International Criminal Court is the beginning of justice for Palestinian people, martyrs and prisoners

Palestine National Council (PNC) said that the announcement by the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Fatou Bensouda, that her office had begun to conduct an investigation related to the situation in Palestine is the beginning of the initiation of justice for Palestinian people, martyrs, prisoners, and detainees.
In a statement issued this evening, Wednesday, PNC added that this decision constitutes a developed stage in the path of international legal accountability for Israel, and a remarkable victory for Palestinian diplomacy, expressing the hope that this will act as a deterrent to the Israeli occupation from continuing its crimes and terror.
This decision is the first practical step towards achieving justice by punishing the Israeli war criminals who persist in their daily crimes against our people and our land, PNC clarified.
PNC affirmed that this decision comes at a time when the crimes of the Israeli occupation and settlers intensify in practicing the policy of ethnic cleansing against the Palestinian people and the land, including demolishing homes, confiscating lands, building settlements, storming holy sites, arresting Palestinians all over time, and killing innocent people in cold blood.
PNC urged the International Criminal Court to start real investigation on the ground, to cover all the ongoing Israeli crimes that fall within the jurisdiction of the court (settlement, aggression on Gaza Strip, prisoners and detainees), despite Israel's stand refusing to open an investigation of these crimes that do not lapse over the time or obsolescence.
The time has come to prosecute, question and punish the perpetrators of the crimes, PNC continued, including the Israeli political and military leaders, and the Israeli settler terrorist organizations, such as the "Paying the Price," The Hills Youth, and "The New Guard" which wreaked murder, terror and theft of the human beings and the occupied Palestinian land, burning Palestinian farms, and intimidate the defenseless Palestinian citizens.

PNC calls for building on the message of European parliamentarians to put pressure on the Israeli occupation

Palestine National Council (PNC) called on the parliaments of the world and their regional and international unions, foremost of which is the International Parliamentary Union, to build on the message of the European parliamentarians to put pressure on the Israeli occupation to stop the colonial annexation project in the occupied Palestinian territories.

In a press statement today, Monday, PNC said that the message of 442 European parliamentarians from the parliaments of 22 European countries constitutes a responsible sensing by them of the threat to the future of the peace process in the region, as a result of the Israeli occupation authorities continuing violations of international law and international legitimacy decisions related to the Palestinian issue, especially the decision of the International Security Council No. 2334 of 2016.

PNC welcomed the contents of the message of the parliamentarians addressed to the European foreign ministers, and their request to exert more pressure on the Israeli occupation to stop the de facto annexation of the occupied Palestinian territories.

PNC praised what was stated in the parliamentarians’ message that it is necessary to work to prevent the occupation unilateral action undermining the possibility of peace, and urged the European Union and European countries to demonstrate leadership capacity and use various political tools in their possession to stop the Israeli violations in the Palestinian occupied territories.

PNC called on the European Union governments to take practical steps and build on this message to stop the de facto annexation that is progressing rapidly, especially the increase in the pace of rapid settlement expansion, the demolition of Palestinian property and the displacement of their owners within the framework of the Judaization program practiced by the occupation authorities in the occupied State of Palestine.
