PNC on the anniversary of Balfour Declaration calls for imposing political and economic sanctions on the Israeli occupation to stop its crimes against the Palestinian people

On the anniversary of Balfour Declaration, Palestine National Council (PNC) called on the international community and its institutions, especially the Security Council, to hold the Israeli occupation accountable and to impose political, economic and diplomatic sanctions on it to end its occupation and settlement, in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 2334 of 2016.

This came during a meeting held by PNC Political Committee, with the participation of PNC Vice-President, Father Constantine Qarmash, and the PNC Secretary, Muhammad Sbaih, under the direction of PNC Speaker Mr. Saleem Al-Za’anoun, on the occasion of the 104th anniversary of Balfour Declaration in 1917, where the anniversary came this year in line with the open colonial settlement war against everything that is Palestinian.

At the conclusion of their meeting at the PNC headquarters, the conferees affirmed that the crime of Balfour Declaration was the beginning of a colonial policy that established all crimes committed against the Palestinian people. Balfour Declaration is a dangerous precedent in history, and is considered - according to the provisions and rules of international law - a full-fledged crime, which led to the uprooting and displacement of more than half of the Palestinian people from their land, in a process of ethnic cleansing, during which hundreds of bloody massacres were committed against the Palestinian people, who are waiting - until now - to punish the perpetrators of the massacres.

The conferees called on all communities, events, unions, institutions and members of PNC in the homeland and the diaspora to interact with the President's decision to half-mast the flags on this painful anniversary, because of its implications and messages confirming the Palestinian people's rejection of that colonial declaration, which is the main reason for the series of crimes and violations committed against our people 104 years ago.

The attendees called on the British government to assume its legal, humanitarian and moral responsibilities for its sin against the Palestinian people, calling on the British people, the House of Commons and the Lords to bear the responsibility of obliging their government to correct the grave committed mistake, to acknowledge its international legal responsibility, and to implement the principle of repairing the damage it caused to the rights of Palestinians, including an apology to the Palestinian people, compensation, and recognition of the State of Palestine on the borders of June 4, 1967, with occupied Jerusalem as its capital.

PNC conferees explained that the
occupying power - amid international silence - is continuing to complete the implementation of the colonial Balfour Declaration, to deprive our people of their right to self-determination, their return to their land, and the establishment of the independent state with Jerusalem as its capital. And they demand that the occupation government be obligated to stop its destructive settlement policies, house demolitions, forced displacement, and confiscation of land, especially in the occupied city of Jerusalem, which has not even spared its cemeteries from assault, with the aim of Judaizing, as is happening now in the Yusufiya cemetery, and this is accompanied by a fierce ethnic cleansing campaign in the city, in addition to the continued killing, arrest and abuse of prisoners, especially hunger strikers, in refusal to administrative detention.

The conferees also stressed that the terrorist government of settlers, led by Naftali Bennett, is waging an open war on the future of our state, through its colonial project throughout the Palestinian territories, to rupture its geographical contiguity, prevent the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, and established an apartheid regime that is documented by many specialized reports worldwide, but without accountability or punishment for its actions that amount to war crimes, and crimes against humanity.

The meeting participants held the international community and its institutions, especially the UN Security Council, the legal responsibility for implementing the relevant international legitimacy resolutions, leaving the square of silence and shy condemnation that encourage the Israeli occupation to continue its crimes, holding it accountable and imposing political, economic and diplomatic sanctions on it to end its occupation and settlement, in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution No. 2334 of 2016. It is not possible to guarantee all of this, without activating the provisions of international law, to ensure the implementation of the resolutions of international legitimacy that enable the Palestinian people to enjoy their full inalienable rights, leading to peace and stability in the Middle East.

They also called on the UN Security Council to work to provide international protection for our Palestinian people, who are exposed to the escalation and continuing violations of the occupation and settlers of the rights, land and sanctities of the Palestinians, and the occupation's denial of the internationally recognized two-state solution.
The attendees condemned the racist occupation government's decision towards Palestinian human rights organizations by classifying them as "terrorist organizations", and held the occupation government responsible for that dangerous decision, and saluted all countries, parliaments, parties and human rights organizations for their positions towards that decision, which aims to silence the voice of Palestinian human rights defenders and oncealing the ongoing crimes of the occupation.

The conferees called on the Arab and Islamic nations and their institutions, especially the League of Arab States and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and their parliaments and governments, to shoulder the historical responsibility and carry out their duties by providing financial, political and media support to the Palestinian people, as approved by the Arab and Islamic summits, to confront the Israeli occupation policies and its violations in Palestine, because the occupation government did not spare any kind of crimes, terror, settlements and persecution to practice against our people, as the situation has become dangerous and cannot tolerate this inaction and the failure of Arab institutions in their duties, while the occupation government and the settler groups are spending huge sums of money to Judaize Jerusalem and build settlements.

The meeting participants saluted the legendary steadfastness of the prisoners and heroic detainees, led by the hunger strikers, the oldest of whom is Kayed Fasfoos, who has been on strike for 111 days, Miqdad Al-Qawasma, who is facing the death, and his colleagues , Hisham Abu Hawash, Shadi Abu Akar, Ayyad Al-Heraimi, and Lou’ay Al-Ashqar. The meeting participants demanded for the necessity of making all efforts to put an end to the prisoners and detainees suffering by releasing them from the Israeli occupation prisons.

PNC: The assassination of Palestinian citizens is a direct result of the failure to hold the Israeli occupation accountable for its crimes

PNC said that the crime of assassinating the five Palestinian citizens today by the Israeli occupation army, was a direct result of the failure to punish the war criminals in Israel - the occupying country - and its leaders, including civilians, military, security, and settler groups, in accordance with the four Geneva Conventions of 1949 and the two protocols attached to them.

In a statement issued today, Sunday, PNC called to prosecute the war criminals in the occupation government and punish them for their crimes, following the killing (martyrdom) of five citizens in Jerusalem and Jenin today (Ahmed Zahran, Mahmoud Humaidan, Zakaria Badwan, Osama Yasser Sobh, Yousef Sobh - 16 years old), as well as the killing of the youngster Muhammad Khabisa in the town of Beita / Nablus the day before yesterday.

PNC stressed that it is the duty of the high signatory states to the Geneva Conventions to take measures to ensure the implementation of the provisions, and to hold the leaders of the occupying state accountable for their grave breach of the provisions. These states cannot absolve themselves of the responsibility for the mentioned acts, as they have pledged to enforce respect for the 1977 Protocol I, in all circumstances, which is related to the protection of victims of international armed conflicts.

PNC clarified that Israeli leaders bear criminal responsibility based on the text of Articles 146 and 147 of the Fourth Geneva Convention, the text of Articles 3 and 52 of the 1907 Hague Convention, and the text of Articles 27 and 28 of the 1998 International Criminal Court, which entirely emphasize that the perpetrators of these crimes must be brought to justice. to the International Criminal Court to impose a deterrent punishment against them.

PNC called on the UN Security Council to provide international protection for the Palestinian people in accordance with the General Assembly resolution in its emergency session No. A/Es-10/L.23 on 6th of June 2018, and the relevant Geneva Conventions. PNC appealed to parliaments around the world to contribute to the efforts that would protect the Palestinian people under occupation, deter the occupation leaders, and ensure that they do not go unpunished for their crimes.

PNC on the International Day of Peace: The Israeli occupation of Palestine threatens international peace and security

Palestine National Council (PNC) called on the United Nations, the countries of the world and their parliaments to work hard to achieve peace for the Palestinian people, who are subjected to the Israeli occupation and its colonial settlement policy, which constitutes an imminent threat to international peace and security, That the occupation denies the guaranteed, protected and inalienable rights of Palestinian people.

In a statement on the occasion of the "International Day of Peace" approved by the United Nations General Assembly in 1981, and which the world celebrates on the 21st of September of each year, PNC said: It is the duty and responsibilities of the United Nations, especially the Security Council, to take practical and immediate measures to implement its decisions on the Palestinian issue, so that the Palestinian people may enjoy security and peace in their independent state, with the city of Jerusalem as its capital.

PNC said that the only way to deter the occupation and protect our people from crimes and aggression on its land, its holy sites, detainees and prisoners, will only be achieved by activating the tools and mechanisms of international accountability against the occupying government and all its arms in the occupied Palestinian territories, and by binding the occupying power to the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949, and successive international legitimacy resolutions Including Security Council Resolution 2334 of 2016.

The actions of the occupying government on the ground and the statements of its leaders rejecting peace and the resolutions of international legitimacy, especially its Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, require a firm international response and rejection, PNC added, these actions reaffirm the insistence on implementing the settler colonial plan in the occupied Palestinian territories, instead of ending the occupation, which is the only condition for peace and security in the region.

PNC concluded its statement by emphasizing the right of Palestinian people to struggle and resist occupation, and that peace, security and stability in the Middle East will not be achieved unless the Palestinian people are empowered with all their rights to self-determination on their land, and their return to it, and the right to live in security and peace in their independent state in accordance with the relevant international legitimacy resolutions.

PNC calls for international intervention and urgent protection for prisoners in Israeli occupation prisons

Palestine National Council (PNC) called on all international institutions, particularly the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), to intervene urgently to stop the frenzy attack against the prisoners and detainees in the prisons of the Israeli occupation, and to provide them with urgent protection, as guaranteed by international law.
In a statement issued today, Thursday, PNC said that the Israeli occupation authorities have escalated their violations, incursions, repression and abuse against Palestinian prisoners and detainees, and imposed collective punishments against them, within a framework of systematic and escalating policy of revenge which blessed by the highest political and security levels in Israel, the occupying state. This is a clear crime targeting all prisoners and detainees protected under the relevant Geneva Conventions.
The Israeli occupation authorities seek to single out the prisoners, and practice the worst methods of repression, collective and individual isolation, and physical assault by terror corps armed with all kinds of
weapons and police dogs, PNC added, and supported by large numbers of the occupation soldiers, that warns of widespread and serious violations and attacks against the prisoners. These crimes amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity for which international law is held accountable.
In its statement, PNC said, it is time to implement the Geneva Conventions related to Palestinian prisoners and detainees. Regional and international human rights and human rights institutions, and parliaments of the world have to bear their full responsibilities towards the Palestinian defenseless prisoners, and to mobilize urgently to put an end to the Israeli oppression and disregard for the lives of
about (4,600) prisoners, including (200) children, (38) female prisoners, and hundreds of sick and elderly people, distributed in (23) prisons, detention and investigation centers

PNC: The Israeli occupation turning of Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyards into a war zone is a "complete crime", and holds the occupation responsible

Palestine National Council (PNC) issued an urgent appeal to the Arab and Islamic parliaments to assume their responsibilities towards what is happening in the city of Jerusalem and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque of aggression and desecration by extremist settlers, in full partnership with the Israeli settlement government, whose Prime Minister Naftali Bennett ordered to continue storming, assaulting worshipers, and violating the sanctity of the place.

In a statement issued today, Sunday, PNC said that the Israeli occupation authorities, on the occasion of the so-called anniversary of the alleged “Destruction of the Temple” turned the vicinity of the Old City into a military barracks, closed all entrances of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and forbidden entry to it in conjunction with the settlers’ incursions, at a time when the occupation authorities assault the worshipers, and arrest dozens of them, in order to provide protection to the settlers, and trying to impose Judaizing policies in Al-Aqsa Mosque.

PNC stressed that the occupation forces’ transforming the sanctity of the place into a battlefield in the blessed days that precede the blessed Eid Al-Adha, the brutal attack and the expulsion of worshipers by force from inside Al-Aqsa is “a full-fledged crime, and a blatant challenge to all international values and covenants, which prevent prejudice to places of worship. PNC holds the occupation government fully responsible for all the serious repercussions of these incursions.
The council added that all the repeated and systematic incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque reflect a blind madness of the Israeli extremists and the settler government, PNC added, that’s in a blatant provocation of the religious and patriotic feelings of the Palestinian people, and about two billion Muslims, which proves the falsity of the new (Abrahamic) initiatives, which aim to legitimize the occupation utilizing misleading and deceptive titles, to seize the Al-Aqsa Mosque and build the so-called "Temple".

PNC addressed all Jerusalemites and Palestinians with a salute of pride and reverence, who std to defend Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque, praising their steadfastness and courage, and confronting the occupation forces with their unarmed bodies and their strong will to deter the occupation and settlers, and thwart their plans to Judaize Al-Aqsa Mosque.

PNC saluted the advanced and pivotal role led and played by Jordanian King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, the owner of the Hashemite custodianship over the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, in defending the Palestinian rights and protecting Al-Aqsa Mosque from Israeli violations and attempts to Judaize it. PNC highly appreciates the great sacrifices provided by the brotherly Jordanian people, and the continuous support of the government and parliament of the Kingdom of Jordan for the rights of Palestinian people, and the defense of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and facing the Israeli attempts to divide it.

In this regard, PNC affirmed that Jordan and Palestine, at all levels, are in the same advanced trench of confrontation to thwart all projects and conspiracies targeting Palestine and the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, and try to prejudice the legitimate rights of Palestinian people to return, liberate, and establish an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

PNC said that the continuation of these incursions and attacks on Jerusalem and its sanctities requires the Arab and Islamic nations and its institutions, especially the League of Arab States and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, to elevate their positions to take practical measures to implement their political, financial and media decisions to protect the city of Jerusalem, support the steadfastness of Jerusalemites, and strengthen their struggle in facing the policies and the escalating occupation measures, including demolishing homes, and attempts to implement forced displacement in the neighborhoods of Jerusalem and its occupied towns.

PNC also called on the UN Security Council to assume its political and legal responsibilities, to intervene to stop Israel’s crimes, to hold it accountable for it, and to take urgent measures to provide protection for Palestinian people, whose life and Islamic and Christian sanctities are exposed to daily aggression from the occupying power, which continues its colonial project without any commitment to the principles of international law and human rights charters, which criminalize attacks on sanctities and the violation of the right to worship, ignore all international resolutions which affirm that the city of Jerusalem is an occupied Palestinian land, from which Israel must withdraw, like all other Palestinian territories occupied in 1967.

Saving the life of Palestinian detainee Abu Atwan, who has been on hunger strike for 59 consecutive days

Saving the life of Palestinian detainee Abu Atwan, who has been on hunger strike for 59 consecutive days
The Palestinian detainee Alghadanfar Abu Atwan, 28 years old, who has been held in Israeli prisons since October last year, continues his hunger strike for the 59th consecutive day, in a refusal to continue the arbitrary detention according to the so-called “Administrative Detention,” without charge or trial.
On the other hand, the Israeli occupation refuses to respond to his humanitarian demand to end his administrative detention and release him, and continues to detain him in the Israeli "Kaplan" Hospital, without providing him with the necessary medical care, which has led to a serious deterioration in his health that threatens his life. According to the latest report issued by the doctors in the hospital two days ago, the detainee Abu Atwan faces three serious possibilities, including: paralysis, a chronic health problem that is difficult to treat later, or the possibility of sudden death.
The case of the administrative detainee Abu Atwan and his legitimate right to resort to the most difficult and painful option - which is to go on a hunger strike after the failure of other means - is a painful human condition that hundreds of Palestinians have experienced and suffered from in the Israeli occupation prisons, as a result of the occupation’s exaggeration in adopting the policy of “Administrative Detention” which is widely used as a systematic method, despite its abnormal, exceptional and temporary nature, as a form of collective punishment of Palestinians.
Therefore, we hold the Israeli occupation authorities fully responsible for the life of detainee Abu Atwan, and we ask you to pressure the occupation authorities to ensure his immediate release, and the release of other detainees who are on hunger strike without charge or trial, so that they can receive the necessary medical care in Palestinian hospitals.
We invite you, and we expect you to contribute to the efforts of sending fact-finding committees to investigate the situation of Palestinian prisoners, and to communicate with international human rights, humanitarian and health institutions to stop what the prisoner Abu Atwan is exposed to before it is too late, in light of the rapid deterioration of his health and the danger of loosing his life.
We also urge you to put pressure on the Israeli occupation to cancel the administrative detention orders for their grave violation of the provisions of Articles 83-96 of the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and the Convention against Torture, and urging the sponsoring countries of these agreements to enforce them on the Palestinian prisoners, where there are approximately 530 Palestinian administrative detainees are still in the occupation prisons, including dozens of patients.

PNC: The settler “March of the Flags” in Jerusalem is a call for the continuation of aggression and terrorism against Jerusalemites

Palestine National Council (PNC) said that the insistence on organizing the so-called “March of the Flags” in the occupied city of Jerusalem is a call for the continuation of persecution, terrorism and aggression against our people in the city and its Islamic and Christian holy sites.

In a statement issued by PNC Speaker, Mr. Saleem Al-Za’anoon, today, that Palestinian people, Muslims and Christians, are capable of confronting and thwarting this process, just as they have thwarted with their defenseless body and solid will all previous attempts that targeted Christian and Islamic sanctities, especially the attacks on the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The prelude of the new Israeli occupation government, which is headed by the first supporter of settlements, who is one of the sponsors of the draft law to execute Palestinian prisoners in 2018, allowed these terrorist groups of settlers to organize this aggressive march in the vicinity of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and will provide security to protect the terrorist settlers, PNC confirmed. In return the Palestinians in Jerusalem are subjected to harassment, oppression and suppression.

PNC held the Israeli occupying government fully responsible - in accordance with its legal responsibilities as an occupying power - for all the repercussions that may result from this March, including the attacks on Palestinian people in the city of Jerusalem, and the safety of their lives and property.

The Council called on the international community, in particular the UN Security Council and the world's parliaments, to stop "the Israeli madness, led by terrorist groups from settlers, who have the full protection and support of the occupying government, which will lead to more instability in the region".

The policies of the Israeli occupation over 54 years of Judaization operations have failed to obliterate the features of the Arab Islamic and Christian city and its civilized identity, PNC added, and will not succeed in changing the legal status of the city of Jerusalem as an occupied Palestinian city, the capital of the Palestinian state, in accordance with the historical right of Palestinian people, and in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy related, the latest of which is UN Security Council Resolution 2334 of 2016.

It is worth noting that the settlers “March of the Flags” is carried out annually by the settlers under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces on the anniversary of the occupation of Jerusalem in 1967.
