PNC informs the parliaments of the world on the crime of Israeli occupation of demolishing the village of Humsat Al-Buqi’a

The Palestinian National Council informed the parliaments and federations of the world about the crime of ethnic cleansing committed by the Israeli occupation by demolishing the village of (Humsat Al-Buqi’a/Al-Fawqa) in the occupied Palestinian Valleys, which is added to the record of its crimes against the Palestinian people.
In identical messages sent by PNC Speaker, Mr. Saleem Al-Za’anoon to the parliaments and unions, PNC made clear that the demolitions that the occupation authorities pursue as a policy are considered an essential means of creating an environment designed to coerce Palestinians to leave their homes and areas of residence, and allocate these areas to Jewish settlers.
In its messages, PNC called on parliaments to condemn these operations, and to demand an end to the policy of demolishing Palestinian homes, and to provide a clear and transparent approach for Palestinians to be able to build in Area (C) of the West Bank.
The speaker also appealed to those parliaments to intervene with their governments to work to provide urgent shelter for the people of Humsat Al-Buqi’a, to support the Palestinians to help them remain in their lands, and to finance legal support that helps the Palestinians in the litigation procedures against decisions of expulsion and demolition in the Israeli judicial system.
He also called on parliaments to assume their responsibilities, and to demand the international community and the High Contracting Parties to the four Geneva Conventions of 1949 to shoulder their legal responsibilities towards obliging Israel to respect the rules of international humanitarian law and to provide protection for the Palestinian Arab people.

The village of Humsat Al-Buqi’a/Al-Fawqa is inhabited by 73 citizens, including 41 children, PNC added in its messages, that they are now homeless. They are living in harsh and painful suffering, and need help to endure the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic and the difficulties of winter season.
The council indicated that the demolition policy in that village affected 76 buildings, which is more than any other demolition process that occurred in the past decade, and this village is considered one of 38 other villages threatened with destruction, deportation and ethnic cleansing.
This process comes within the framework of an ethnic cleansing plan that is being implemented and completed against Palestinian citizens, PNC continued, the village of Humsat Al-Buqi’a is just an example, as 689 buildings have been demolished in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem so far during the year 2020, which is witnessing the largest demolition during any year since 2016, causing the displacement of 869 Palestinians.
PNC stressed that the village of Humsat Al-Buqi’a is part of the occupied Palestinian territories, which must be subject to the Hague Convention of 1907, the Fourth Geneva Convention on the Protection of Civilians in Time of War of 1949, the First Additional Protocol of 1977, and international resolutions issued by international institutions. As an occupied area is subject to the rules of international humanitarian law, protection must be provided to the victims of wars, specifically the protection of lives, interests and property of the civilian population in the occupied territories.
In its messages, PNC commended the request of the European Union Representative in the Palestinian Territories, regarding the humanitarian facilities funded by European Union were demolished, dismantled or confiscated by Israel, to be "returned or compensated", knowing that there are 52 Palestinian schools funded by the European Union that are threatened with demolition.

PNC commends the world’s support for the President’s initiative to hold an international peace conference on Palestine

Palestine National Council (PNC) praised the response and wide international support for President Mahmoud Abbas initiative to hold an international peace conference. The response was clearly and publicly reflected in the statements of the representatives of the member states of the UN Security Council.
In a press statement issued today, Tuesday, PNC added that what happened in the Security Council yesterday, Monday, proves once again the global adherence to the decisions of international legitimacy and the appeal to international law, and refusing to replace them with other references as the delegate of US Trump’s Administration tried to promote. The delegate appeared isolated in her positions.
The positions of the overwhelming majority in the Security Council confirmed their rejection of annexation and settlement and the violation of human rights in Palestine, PNC affirmed, and that the key to security and peace in the region is the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to self-determination, return and establishing their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions.
PNC continued that the President's initiative to hold an international peace conference under the auspices of the United Nations has become an international quest that only Israel and Trump’s Administration oppose, and has been persistently violating international law and leaping over relevant United Nations resolutions, including the Arab Peace Initiative, that the American UN delegate said that it is no longer necessary and not needed, and the alternative is the "Deal of the Century", which is rejected by the United Nations General Assembly.
Trump’s Administration has no right to override the Arab peace initiative, which has become part of the UN Security Council resolutions, PNC stressed, what the American UN delegate describes as the new horizons for the Palestinians that were opened by Trump's deal is nothing but misleading and rejected altogether, because that deal is a mere recipe for war and instability in the region due to its violation of Security Council resolutions of the rights of Palestinian people, and the deal is a complete bias towards the Israeli occupation.

PNC: Sudan-Israel relations normalization Agreement will never bring peace, development and prosperity to the region

Palestine National Council (PNC) considered Sudan’s normalization agreement with Israel under US auspices a rejected use of the Palestinian cause, in exchange for US and Israeli promises and illusions that would not bring peace, prosperity, and development to Sudan or the entire region.
In a statement issued today, Saturday, PNC affirmed that this normalization agreement represents a breach and a violation of Arab and Islamic decisions consensus regarding the Palestinian issue, and a flagrant violation of the rights of the Palestinian people and their cause.
PNC stressed that peace, security, and prosperity in the region will only be achieved by establishing of the State of Palestine, with full sovereignty and its capital, Jerusalem, the withdrawal from all occupied Arab lands in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions, and the return of Palestinian refugees in accordance with Resolution 194.

PNC called on the Arab Parliamentary Union, the Arab Parliament, the Union of Islamic Parliaments, and the Arab and Islamic parliaments, to condemn and reject this agreement because it violates the fundamentals of the Arab and Islamic nations, and demands the immediate reversal of this agreement.
PNC, also confirmed what was stated in the Palestinian presidency's statement issued on Friday, regarding Sudan's agreement with Israel, praising the unified Palestinian official and popular position in confronting all liquidation projects for the rights of Palestinian people to return and establishing the state with Jerusalem as its capital, and calling for the speedy completion of what was agreed upon to achieve reconciliation and Patriotic unity to confront the risks facing our national project

PNC calls on the International Criminal Court to expedite opening investigation in settlement crime in Palestine

Palestine National Council (PNC) called on the International Criminal Court to expedite taking the necessary measures to open a criminal investigation into the ongoing settlement crimes in the territories of the Occupied State of Palestine, including East Jerusalem.
In a statement issued by PNC Speaker Saleem Al-Za’anoon today, Friday, added that the continuation of Israel, the occupying power, to continue its colonial settlement activities in Palestine, the latest of which is the approval of building 5,000 settlement units, constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and resolutions of international legitimacy, and rises to the level of war crimes.
PNC indicated that the immediate attending to consider the settlement crime by International Criminal Court which is the only capable institution will stop this crime, in light of the lack of accountability in the UN Security Council, and the violations of its decisions on settlements, the latest is the violation of Resolution 2334, which called for a cessation of settlements, and considered all settlement activities as null and void.
The National Council called on the UN Security Council to assume its responsibilities, implement its decisions and defend it, and hold Israel accountable for its crimes, especially the settlement crime.
PNC called for international protection for the Palestinian people from the settlers who are protected from the Israeli occupation soldiers, who escalate their terror and attacks, especially during the olive harvest season, when farmers are subjected to attacks and prevented from reaching their farms, while olive trees are exposed to the theft and burning of their crops.
PNC called on the parliamentary unions and parliaments of the world to announce their positions, condemn these Israeli settlement policies and measures, and the need to take deterrent decisions against Israel by the governments, and to take the necessary measures to ensure that the occupation state complies with international covenants and decisions.
PNC also condemned the decision of the Israeli occupation government not to allow employees of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to return to the occupied Palestinian territories, to carry out their duties to monitor and follow up the violations and crimes committed by the occupation authorities against the Palestinian people.

PNC calls for an urgent intervention to save the life of the hunger-striking prisoner Maher Al-Akhras

Palestine National Council (PNC) called for urgent and rapid intervention to save the life of the prisoner Maher Abdul Latif Hassan Al-Akhras, who was on hunger strike for the 74th consecutive day, in protest against the arbitrary Israeli administrative detention policy against him, while he is facing extremely dangerous health conditions.

In a statement issued today, Thursday, PNC warned of the danger of death threatening the life of the prisoner Al-Akhras (49 years old), who is married and has six children, the youngest of whom is a six-year-old girl. Al-Akhras faces, with his empty stomachs, the policy of the Israeli prisoners and the slowdown in his release.

PNC held Israel fully responsible for the life of the prisoner Al-Akhras, calling on human rights institutions and other international organizations to shoulder their responsibilities in this regard, and to break the cycle of the dominating silence, and hold Israel responsible for its actions.
Israel has violated and exceeded all international controls and standards in the treatment of Palestinian prisoners which are stipulated in all relevant conventions and treaties, to make its actions a war crime against Palestinian detainees, PNC added
PNC appealed to international and regional parliamentary unions and human rights committees in international parliaments to pressure the Israeli Knesset (Parliament) and its occupation government to put an end to its policy of administrative detention as a method of collective punishment, which affected all age groups, including children, women, elderly, sick and political leaders.
PNC indicated that at a time when the world is facing the continuing spread of the Coronavirus, the Israeli occupation authorities continue to carry out daily arrests of Palestinian citizens, and transfer dozens of them to administrative detention.
There are (350) administrative detainees in the Israeli occupation prisons, PNC confirmed, stressing that this type of detention is considered an occupation collective punishment, especially if we know that the occupation authorities have issued more than (54) thousand administrative detention decisions since its occupation in 1967, from Among them (800) decisions since the beginning of 2020.

PNC: The Emirates-Bahrain normalization agreements with Israel will not achieve peace and prosperity in the region

The Emirati and Bahraini normalization agreements with the Israeli occupation that were signed today do not represent the Arab popular position, especially in Bahrain and the Emirates, PNC affirmed, and will not achieve security, stability and prosperity in the region, and that the key to security and peace in the Middle East is the Palestinian people obtaining their full rights.

In a statement issued this evening, Tuesday, after the signing of the two normalization agreements in Washington, under the auspices of the United States, PNC stressed that the Arab countries that signed those agreements have legalized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel with its Islamic and Christian sanctities, and have ratified the US "Deal of the Century" .

PNC continued: The real threat to Arab national security and the Palestinian cause is the Israeli occupation, which is trying to liquidate our Palestinian national rights in: home return and establishing the state with Jerusalem as its capital.

Israel has not hidden its ambitions in implementing its plans and consolidating its expansionist colonial hegemony, PNC continued, not only in Palestine, but in the Arab region, and aims at perpetuating the intra-Arab conflict and control Arab natural wealth and resources, which must be enjoyed by the generations of our Arab nation.

PNC said: The only winners from these agreements are Israel and Trump Administration, where this president was able to exploit the fragmentation and weakening the Arabs, and deceive some of them, to achieve his own goals to improve his chances of success in the upcoming presidential elections.

PNC reiterated that these agreements will not break in the support of Palestinian people and their leadership, nor will they undermine their determination and will in the face of all these pressures, and the attempts to impose a political blockade, after the failure of Trump Administration to achieve its goals through the financial blockade and economic sanctions.

PNC called on Palestinian people everywhere to join the popular activities that the unified national leadership of popular resistance called for, to reject and denounce the signing of these normalization agreements with the Israeli occupation.

PNC extended salutes to the masses of our Arab nation, especially in Bahrain, from political societies, parliamentary blocs, parliamentarians and civil society organizations, who declared their rejection of normalization with the Israeli occupation, and reaffirmed their genuine Arab stances towards the first cause of Arab nation, which is Palestine.

PNC: Bahrain-Israel agreement is a violation of the Arab and Islamic consensus decisions regarding Palestine

Palestine National Council (PNC) considered Bahrain-Israel normalization agreement, under US sponsorship, is a “blatant violation of Arab and Islamic consensus decisions regarding the Palestinian cause, and a flagrant violation of the rights of our people and their sacred cause, the rights of the Arab and Islamic nations in Palestine, and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
In a statement issued today, Saturday, PNC condemned the normalization agreement between Bahrain and Israel the occupying state, in exchange for the claim that the agreement achieves security and peace in the region and contributes to solving the Palestinian issue. PNC clarified that this agreement constitutes a threat to Arab national security in favor of the Israeli colonial project, and hideous abuse by Trump Administration of the conditions of weakness and the Arab fragmentation.
"Peace, security and prosperity in the region will not be achieved without the establishment of the State of Palestine, with full sovereignty, with Jerusalem as its capital, the withdrawal from all occupied Arab lands in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions, and the return of Palestinian refugees in accordance with the UN Resolution 194." PNC affirmed.
The condition for normalizing Arab relations with Israel and establishing peace with it is only through practical commitment to the Arab peace initiative, on which the Arab kings and presidents unanimously agreed, and to support the Palestinian cause as the central cause of the Arab nation, PNC added.
PNC continued that standing by the Palestinian people means adhering to the resolutions of international legitimacy and the decisions of the Arab and Islamic summits, and not contributing to the implementation of the "Deal of the Century" and its proposals to legitimize the occupation of Jerusalem, settlements and annexation, and granting it sovereignty over Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the Islamic and Christian holy sites.
PNC also affirmed what was stated in the Palestinian leadership’s statement issued yesterday, Friday, regarding Bahrain-Israel agreement, stressing that it only serves Trump Administration and the Israeli occupation, its colonial projects in Palestine and its ambitions in the Arab world.
PNC called on the heads of the Arab Parliamentary Union, the Arab Parliament, the Union of Islamic Parliaments, and the Arab and Islamic parliaments to condemn and reject this agreement, and to confront the leaving away of an Arab state from the principles of the Arab and Islamic nations, and demand Bahrain to immediately withdraw from this agreement.
No party has the right to speak on behalf of Palestinian people, PNC affirmed, stressing that the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) - headed by President Mahmoud Abbas - is the sole legitimate representative of Palestinians and is the trustee of the people’s rights.
PNC considered that what Bahrain has done does not represent the original position of the brotherly Bahraini people and their free will, which was expressed by its civil societies and their liberals in rejecting normalization with the Israeli occupation and defending the rights of Palestinian people.
The Council renewed its full confidence in the Arab and Islamic peoples and their rejection of such agreements, and to continue their commitment to Palestine and support the struggle of Palestinian people to regain their full rights. Palestine will continue to be the prelude of defending the interests and rights of our Arab nation.
The best response to this rush towards normalization with the Israeli occupation and the protection of our rights is to move forward with vigorous and accelerating steps towards achieving the Palestinian reconciliation and embodying national unity, PNC confirmed, to continuing the path of struggle and persistency until the end of the occupation.
